Engel and Wyplay parnter for next generation connected HD STB

Amsterdam, September 9, 2009. Engel and Wyplay have entered into a formal relationship to provide next generation connected HD STBs. Engel addresses the highly-competitive European market with a complete range of Set-top box solutions and is the leader of STB sales in the Spanish market.

These next generation products will have the richest functionality available in the market and include such features as Digital TV reception with integrated PVR, Electronic Programming Guide, premium VOD, web video, web radio, in-home media sharing, and a build-in full-HD multimedia player.

In addition to its impressive feature set, the companies have created a highly intuitive user experience that will greatly appeal to the general public.
At the heart of these products is the signature Wyplay Modular Solutions (WMS) - the same TV-centric software that powers some of the leading brands in consumer electronics and IPTV today.
