Senior Associate

Katie Ellias joined the Life Sciences team as a Senior Associate in 2011.  Prior to Sofinnova, Katie spent five years at Medtronic’s headquarters in Switzerland and the US, most recently leading marketing for the Coronary Vascular business in Europe.  She also initiated and directed the Medtronic Eureka program, an international initiative aimed at facilitating collaboration between Medtronic and early-stage medical device inventors. Before moving to Europe, Katie was as a Senior Business Development Associate for Medtronic’s Cardiac Surgery division in Minneapolis. Previously, Katie worked as a contract negotiator for Partners Healthcare System in Boston (the region's largest hospital network including Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital) focusing on healthcare policy and healthcare finance. She began her career as a consultant with McKinsey & Company in Boston.

Katie holds a BA in International Relations and Political Science from Yale University and an MBA in Healthcare Management from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
