Tony Reis, Former CEO of Swisscom, joins Esmertec’s Board of Directors

Duebendorf-Zurich, Switzerland – August 30, 2004 – Esmertec™ a leading provider of software solutions for mobile phones and embedded devices, is pleased to announce that Tony Reis has accepted to become a member of Esmertec’s Board of Directors.

Tony Reis, a veteran in the Information Technology (IT) and telecommunication business, began his professional career in marketing management at IBM Switzerland after completing his business studies in Lucerne, Paris and London.  He returned to the European headquarters of IBM in Paris in 1993 as General Manager of Country Operations. Four years later he moved to Swisscom where he held the post of Chief Executive Officer in 1998 and 1999.

Tony Reis currently serves on the Board of Directors of companies such as Clariant, Metallwarenholding AG and V-ZUG AG in Zug; ROLEX Manufacture SA in Biel/Bienne; and Karl Steiner AG, Generalunternehmung in Zug.
